| Greetings, Class of 2029 Can you believe you’re almost halfway through your second semester and more than halfway through your first year of college? Let that sink in because it is no small feat. You’ve Come a Long Way This semester may feel both easier and harder than fall semester. Easier because you know Wesleyan a bit more. Harder because your courses have likely leveled up. That tension is a sign of growth. You’re being pushed because you’re ready to be pushed. Spring Break (March 7 – March 22) Spring Break starts this Friday 3/7. I know some of you have exciting plans – travel, volunteer trips, athletic competitions, part-time work, or simply the gift of doing nothing. Whatever your break looks like, I encourage you to be intentional about it. Rest is not wasted time; it is necessary time. Please give yourself permission to truly recharge. At the same time, don’t completely let go of academics. A little awareness goes a long way – glancing at what’s coming up when you return or keeping tabs on a semester-long assignment can make all the difference. Looking Ahead – Major Declaration Workshop on 3/31 Here is something that might surprise you: this time next year, you will declare your major. To get you thinking about major declaration, please attend the Chart Your Course(s): Choosing Your Major program on 3/31. This session will help you understand how the courses you take now can shape your major, and in turn, shape your career. Fun fact: you can major in almost anything and still pursue the career you want. Don’t believe me? Come hear from the experts! There will be a waitlist so RSVP today to hold your spot (and to make sure we order enough dinner)! You’re doing great. Enjoy Spring Break – you’ve earned it! |
