| Happy October, Class of 2029! I am confident you experienced all the feelings during your first month at Wes. Remember, the college transition doesn’t happen overnight – you’ll continue to experience highs and lows as you navigate each milestone in your first year. As shared in a summer message, Wes offers resources to meet you at every stage of your experience. A few academic considerations as we head into October: Major Open Houses: Academic Departments will host open houses through November to help you explore majors and minors. Check the Fall 2025 Major Open House Calendar for dates, times, locations and details. Many will offer free food and giveaways! October Academic Deadlines: Now that drop/add is over, mark these important dates from the university’s academic calendar: 10/10: Grading Mode Deadline for 1st Quarter Classes (5pm) 10/17: Withdrawal Deadline for 1st Quarter Classes (5pm) 10/18-10/21: Fall Break10/24: 1st Quarter Classes End 10/24-10/26: Homecoming & Family Weekend 10/29: 2nd Quarter Classes Start (can add/drop 5 days after first class) And let us not forget Wesleyan’s Office Trick or Treating, a tradition you will soon hear about from Student Involvement. Be sure to visit the Class Dean suite (2nd Floor North College) on Friday 10/31 to get a treat and see your very own Class Dean in a ridiculous Halloween costume. Keep up the great work, good luck with midterms, and remember I’m here to help you succeed – I encourage you to reach out when you need assistance. |
